“Hello, I'm walking my way back to health, and although walking alone is fine, camaraderie is better, ...and friends to talk with are better still.”
Education, Work, and Avocation Experience: After college, Michael challenged his business acumen in his pursuit of his dream of becoming a wood carver, a craftsman as a wood sculptor, through College of the Red Woods in California. Michael earned his Bachelors of Science in business management from Metropolitan State College, in Denver, Colorado in 1973. In 1978, he returned to his hometown of Denver, Colorado, and apprenticed in Golden as a professional wood carver. From 1980 to 1984, he managed his own business, called Colorado Wood Carving. In 1984, he returned to Santa Rosa, California, and continued managing his own business as Michael Fales Architectural Wood Sculpting. During business downturns between 1996 and 2000, Michael served as contact person for inquiries and requests for the Sonoma County Facilities Operations in California. In 2000, he returned to Colorado to become a caregiver for his father, and then for his mother. After their deaths in 2005, he became a new-age explorer, during his transition from caregiver to his next adventure. He is currently seeking employment for one or more of his many skills.
